Career and Internship Opportunities - Los Angeles, San Bruno, San Francisco, Woodland Hills, Calif.; Seattle, Wash.; New York; Detroit, Mich.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Bill ImadaAs many of you know, there will be a rush of students applying for positions upon graduation.  I’m encouraging them to look before they graduate.  If you know of any great entry-level jobs, please pass them along—especially if they are paid internships or in the areas of communications, marketing, public relations, advertising or a related field.

I have heard that a number of GenXers and Boomers are also entering the job market.  And, many of them are applying for entry-level spots.  This is adding pressure to an already tight job market.

One employer told me that he has received 24,000 résumés for one entry-level opening.  That is 11,000 more than the year before.  More than a third of the applicants are GenXers and Boomers—all competing for an entry-level spot in the entertainment industry.

I really like the General Motors opportunity listed below.  If you know of anyone interested in a “career re-entry” opportunity, please encourage people to consider the opportunities being offered by GM (see below).

Warm regards,

Bill Imada
