All Sports United announces 2017 All Stars of Giving Nominees

2013 Winner Israel Idonije

For Immediate Release:

May 26, 2017

The world of sports offers many caring philanthropists who provide support to the causes and communities that are near to their heart.

The All Star of Giving award aims to recognize those individuals for their efforts and work in the philanthropic world by finding the Most Valuable Philanthropist. The social campaign, now in its fifth year, provides a financial award of $10,000 to the winner’s charity.  All nominees can raise funds for their charities by participating in the voting and donation campaign at http://www.allstarsofgiving.com.  The campaign will begin June 1st.

2014 Winner Matt Light

Started by All Sports United co-founders Alan Pavlosky and Scott Manthorne, the All Star of Giving campaign focuses on utilizing the unique platform occupied by athletes to raise awareness of charitable enterprises and to recognize the positive work being done across the world of sports in the hopes of leaving a legacy that last well past prime playing days.

Pavlosky worked hand-in-hand with athletes on the marketing side for three decades. During that time, he felt an under-publicized part of many pro athletes was the philanthropic work done by many. The All Star of Giving campaign helps bring recognition to that community work.

2015 Winner Allison Baver

“I was dealing with a lot of amazing athletes and celebrities that were doing really great things that were under the radar for a lot of reasons,’’ Pavlosky said. “I felt like it was a mission for me, a dream for me to help more of them get involved with philanthropic work because of the amazing opportunity they had to make a difference.  Scott and I have always had the same kind of approach of creating a means for athletes or business people to engage on moving the needle on affecting the greater good. So for us it was always about making that impact.’’

2016 Winner Tony Stewart

The list of nominees for the All Star of Giving award are selected from submissions throughout the year. The 2017 Award nominees features over 30 sports personalities that range from the NFL, MLB, PGA tour, tennis, soccer, Olympic sports, MMA/WWE and broadcasting.

Fans will determine the 10 finalists through an online voting and social media process which runs from June 1-July 1 that utilizes technology provided by Givkwik and xocial (pronounced soh-shul) integration. Fans are also invited to give to their favorite athlete’s charity of choice.

The new addition to this year’s campaign is xocial which will bring their concept of Competitive Kindness to the campaign adding a new level of fun and social media integration.

Thanks to an integration with Givkwik, as participants donate, vote and share they will gain points for their All Star team, which can be tracked on an interactive leader board.

Throughout the campaign, xocial will also be providing additional do-gooder challenges that can help push their team to the top.

As participants vie for the top of the leader board their challenge submissions will be automatically tweeted adding a new level of visibility to the campaign.

The All Sports United podcast, hosted by national radio sports personality T.J. Rives, will feature conversations with this year’s Top 10 finalists before the winner is announced at a date to be determined in July.

Previous winners of the All Star of Giving award include NFL defensive end Israel Idonije, NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, NFL offensive lineman Matt Light and Olympic short-track speed skater Allison Baver.
