Group O Promotes Charles Wetzel to Lead Marketing Solutions Division

8.14.2013 – MILAN, IL: Group O announced today that Charles Wetzel has been promoted to President of its Marketing Solutions division. 

In this new role, Wetzel will be responsible for expanding and developing the company’s loyalty, rewards, trade fulfillment, print management and business analytics practices. Group O currently serves a variety of telecommunications, retail, consumer packaged goods and manufacturing clients with end-to-end marketing and business intelligence services.

Wetzel joined Group O in March 2013 as Vice President and General Manager of Business Intelligence. In this role, he led a team of more than 170 seasoned technology practitioners – leveraging best-in-class business intelligence and marketing automation platforms such as Unica, Aprimo, Microstrategy, Teradata and Aster Technologies, among others. In his new position, Wetzel will also lead an additional 250 Group O marketing team members, including program managers, rewards and print management experts and call center personnel.

Before joining Group O, Wetzel served as president and CEO of Buxton, an industry leader in customer analytics, advising clients in the retail, healthcare and consumer packaged goods industries, and in the public sector. Prior to that, he managed merger, business transformation and strategic advisory services at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Consulting for key players in the communications/media industry such as AOL, Time Warner, Associated Press, Sprint, Verizon and Southwestern Bell.

Recognized as an information sciences industry thought leader, Wetzel has been a frequent presenter at organizational conferences including Shoppers Insight, Chain Store Age and Retail Traffic. He is also a contributing member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Direct Marketing Association, National Retail Federation and the Young Presidents Organization. 

Wetzel holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University, focused in organizational business and business policy. He is based out of Group O offices in Dallas, where he resides with his wife, Julie, and their three children.
