2013 Ambassadors Inaugural Ball Proceeds to Benefit Causes Focused on Improving & Empowering Young Lives

With a diverse audience consisting of hundreds of dignitaries, executives and special guests, event planners expect to make considerable contributions to established beneficiaries of the ball

Washington, D.C. (January 18, 2013)--As inauguration draws near, the host committee for the Ambassadors Inaugural Ball presented by GrupoMex (to be held at the Carnegie Library - directly adjacent to the official Inaugural Ball & Commander In Chief‘s Ball) has released details on the planned use of proceeds from the massive event.

Just as the rest of the country is abuzz with excitement over inauguration day, we are overflowing with anticipation - with many wonderful events being intertwined to celebrate where we’ve come from - as well as where we’re going,” said Mr. Robert Shumake, Business Chair of the Ambassadors Inaugural Ball, and founder of event sponsor ShuFund Capital.

“On Monday, we will be celebrating our future with the second term of the nation’s first African-American president, while also remembering an invaluable man (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), who helped to make this future possible,” Shumake added.

The inaugural ceremonies and other events will take place on MLK Day due to the official inauguration date falling on a Sunday.

Keeping in mind the historic relevance of the day, event organizers are mindful of those who will come up next; which is why they are dedicating our Ambassadors Inaugural Ball to making a difference, and providing more than just encouraging words, but financial support - to a group of organizations that are committed to bringing about change for generations to follow, not just locally, but around the globe.

According to Robert Shumake; “ShuFund Capital has always been about the double bottom line; making a profit and making a difference, this unique event epitomizes this mantra.”

The organizations that are to benefit from the Ambassadors Inaugural Ball proceeds include, Ms. USA Nana Meriwether's The Meriwether Foundation (which focuses on stabilizing the health & economics of lives in South Africa), the Kid Entrepreneurs Need Opportunities (KENO) Foundation (an organization that trains, grows and nurtures businesses formed by young entrepreneurs) and AthleTECH (a Microsoft supported program, under the direction of Anthony Egbuniwe, a Microsoft executive).

Mr. Egbuniwe of Microsoft said, “sports are a universal language that can connect children and promote diversity, AthleTECH allows kids to be exposed to cutting edge technology that demonstrates how they can connect with others and learn about the things that matter to them across the globe."
