International Fraternity to Host Career Fair in Cary, March 23
 

Xi Mu Mu Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity welcomes job seekers

Cary, N.C. March 14, 2024 - The Xi Mu Mu Chapter, of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, is encouraging college students, and other professionals seeking employment to attend a major college fair featuring several local and global industries, Saturday, March 23, 2024, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at West Cary Middle School, 1000 Evans Road, in Cary. Attendees are encouraged to bring their updated resumes. Business-casual attire is recommended. All majors are welcome. Media is encouraged to cover the event.

The public event is part of the fraternity’s Mighty Sixth District Third Council Meeting which is taking place on that same weekend in Wake County. The Sixth District consists of chapters representing North and South Carolina.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically black college. The fraternity was founded on the campus of Howard University, on November 17, 1911.

The founders were three undergraduates — Edgar Amos LoveOscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman, and their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just.

Some notable members of the fraternity include: Douglas Wilder, Virginia’s first African-American Governor, Jazz composer Count Basie, Poet Laureate Langston Hughes, U.S. Congressman James Clyburn, late Astronaut Ronald McNair, Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr., NBA Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal, and former N.C. Supreme Court Associate Justice and Gubernatorial candidate Michael Morgan

Today, Omega Psi Phi has over 700 chapters throughout the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, China, Germany, Ghana, Hawaii, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Panama, St. Croix VI, St. Thomas VI, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
